About Us

We are a group of volunteers formed to provide charitable economic support to local law enforcement K9 programs in Douglas County, Oregon, as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Through fundraising activities and donor solicitations, we support the important work these K9 programs provide by helping to cover the costs of additional training, equipment and unforeseen medical costs.

Benefits to our Community

The addition of K9 units to a law enforcement boadens the department's capacity to serve and help make communities safer; they allow officers to solve crimes more effectively, and also help to discourage criminal activity.

It takes a special dog with the right personality and learning capability to serve alongside law enforcement. A trained tracking K9 can efficiently aid in locating missing or endangered persons and fleeing suspects. A K9 trained to find narcotics can quickly alert police to the presence of drugs in buildings or vehicles and K9 patrol teams are powerful and highly visible deterrents to burglaries, robberies and drug deals.

Police canines also serve as ambassadors to strengthen positive public relations and the opinions of the local law enforcement community.
